Sefikile Bridge

Sefikile Bridge

Dikuno offi cially handed over a double-lane and a single-lane bridge as well as a footbridge to the Sefi kile community on 13 October 2022.

In the rainy season, a stream divides Sefikile and there is a school on both sides of the fast-fl owing water. During the dry season, a dilapidated bridge used to be the only way commuters or pedestrians could cross the dry riverbed.

The Sefi kile community reached out to Dikuno, pleading for a sustainable and safe bridge so that community members could get to schools, work, clinics, and shops without endangering their lives in the rainy season. The project kicked off on 27 June 2022 and was completed on 30 September 2022.

We work for the community – it’s not the fi rst time and it won’t be the last.
